Website and hosting
This website provides information about SquirrelMail. The information pages use no analytics, cookies, external fonts or embedded social media. Language selection stores no data on your device. Cookies are only set for the owner login (see below). When you visit, our hosting provider Uberspace, represented by Jonas Pasche, Kaiserstraße 15, 55116 Mainz, Germany, processes connection data. Access logs contain truncated IP addresses, timestamps, requested addresses, technical request and response data and, where provided, browser and referrer information. Your full IP address is processed to establish the connection. The purpose is to provide this website securely and reliably; the legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. We have concluded a data processing agreement with Uberspace; the agreed processing takes place in Germany or the EU/EEA. Active access logs are currently rotated at approximately 50 MB; rotated files are then retained for seven days. The active file may contain older entries until rotation. According to the provider, additional technical troubleshooting logs are usually retained for one to two days. Webserver logs are not included in backups.
Owner login
The “Sign in” area is intended exclusively for the operator of the approved Instagram Professional Account. Sign-in takes place via Instagram (Meta Platforms Ireland Limited); you enter your Instagram credentials only at Instagram, not with us. After your consent, Instagram transmits the account ID and username, the granted permissions and an access token to us. We check whether it is the approved account. Other accounts are rejected; we store neither account data nor access tokens for them. For sign-in we set two technically necessary cookies: one that secures the sign-in process and expires after at most ten minutes, and, after successful sign-in, a session cookie that becomes invalid after twelve hours or when you sign out. The legal basis for setting these cookies is Section 25(2) No. 2 TDDDG; for processing the sign-in data it is our legitimate interest in secure access restricted to the approved account (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Email contact
When you email us, we process your email address, message and any voluntary details to respond. Providing these details is voluntary; without sufficient contact or relevant information, we may be unable to respond. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in handling inquiries (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). Inquiries to prepare or perform a contract with you rely on Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. The mailbox uses Google Workspace. Google processes mailbox data as a processor under the agreed Cloud Data Processing Addendum. Processing outside the EU/EEA is possible. For relevant transfers, the Addendum provides in particular for standard contractual clauses. Information about the agreed safeguards is available on request at squirrelmail@aqube.de. We delete completed general inquiries once no further questions or documented retention reasons remain. Business correspondence subject to statutory retention is retained in accordance with those requirements.
Your rights
Subject to statutory conditions, you have rights to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and data portability. You may withdraw consent at any time for the future. Send requests to squirrelmail@aqube.de. You may lodge a complaint with a competent data protection supervisory authority, in particular the Hessian Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information.
Right to object
Where we process data on the basis of legitimate interests, you may object to that processing on grounds relating to your particular situation. Please email squirrelmail@aqube.de.
